Updated Trends: Scottish born Singer, Gerry Rafferty, died on the 4th of January at a ripe age of 63, he will surely be remembered by many. The 63 year old Rock n Roll singer, famous for his unforgettable singles like “Baker Street” and “Stuck in the Middle With You”, has passed away, his agent and manager has confirmed the sad news.
He had a very unfortunate childhood, as he was the son of a miner, but precisely he was unwanted in the family. His mother used to take him away, when his father used to come drunk home on Saturday nights. His mother sand him Scottish folk songs, and this influenced him into music. He looked up to Bob Dylan and the Beatles as inspiration.
After a series of successful years in the 70’s, he later fell victim to depression and was under heavy medication. In the year 2008 he was even admitted in the hospital, where he checked in for a heavy chronic liver condition, which was caused due to heavy drinking. Gerry was admitted at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital, Bournemouth, Dorset, in the month of November 2010, where he died due to liver failure on the 4th January.
