Updated Trends: It is Bank of America now who has taken a step to terminate it;s financial relations with the whistle blower website Wikileaks. The Bank has officially stopped handling the website’s account and any sort of financial transaction. The Bank of America is the largest bank in United States.
The Bank has also made an official statement saying “Wikileaks may be engaged in activities that are… inconsistent with our internal policies for processing payments”. Earlier Visa, MasterCard and PayPal had stopped transacting money with the website, which left Wikileaks crumbled, but the website did not lose hope.
Julian Assange on the other hand, was released on bail from the UK prison, as he was arrested on the charges of sex crimes. When asked what he felt about the reactions of several American organizations against him, he answered and said that this is all a part of a ‘Smear’ campaign by the United States.
Assange had earlier stated that next year, he will be releasing documents in context to the Bank of America, and he even tweeted on his account “all people who love freedom close out their accounts at Bank of America, and place your funds somewhere safer”.
