Attorney and a author Elizabeth Edwards passed away on Tuesday at her residence in Chapel Hill, after battling with stage 4 cancer at the age of 61. The doctors suggested that her treatment would not help much as the cancer had spread to her bones and had also affected her liver.
Elizabeth started her career as a law clerk for a federal judge. Later in the year 1978, she became an associate Barr, Harwell, Martin and Sloan. In 1977, she got married to John Edwards the former presidential candidate.
However, her marriage ended after her son died in a jeep crash and John had publicly confessed that he had an illegitimate child outside marriage. Elizabeth lived her life to the fullest in spite of being diagnosed with cancer.
Elizabeth wrote a book based on her son’s death, “Saving Graces: Finding Solace and Strength from Friends and Strangers.” While her second book, “Resilience: Reflections on the Burdens and Gifts of Facing Life’s Adversities,” was based upon the difficulties that she faced in life.
