Updated Trends: Legendary Ron Santo, a former Chicago Cubs player, has died at the age of 70, on Thursday due to complications of bladder cancer. Reports state that he died a painful death at an Arizona hospital. He was one of the best known baseball players, and did not make it to the Hall of Fame, but rather had his own personality and presence on the field when he was active in the game.
One of his close friends stated that he was a very funny and hilarious personality and that he had deep passion for the game. It is really sad to have lost him and now they will miss him a lot. Ron had been diagnosed with diabetes at the age of 18 and he battled against it when he played baseball during his career.
After his retirement, he was not a fit and healthy person rather he had many complicated ailments that had affected him, as a matter of fact he even lost both legs due to the diabetes that he had. He was and still is regarded as one of the best players in American baseball history, but had not been inducted in the Hall of Fame.
