Updated Trends: Bakrid Festival 2010 Is Being Celebrated Around The World In Great Enthusiasm
This Wednesday, all the Muslim people around the world will be celebrating the Bakrid Festival 2010, as this is one of the most important festivals which is observed by the Islamics around the world. It is also known as Eid al-Adha in many other parts of the world and it is this day that signifies the willingness of Ibrahim to sacrifice his son Ishmael to god, but this did not happen, as god intervened and made him sacrifice a ram .
Today the sacrificial lamb is signified everywhere, as the Muslim community will be sacrificing or killing goats, sheep, camels and other cattle to show their sign of obedience to god. People observe the age old rituals during Bakrid as they sacrifice the animal and distribute it among their family, friends and neighbors.
On Bakrid, Muslim men go to the mosque for prayers and after which they greet each other on this auspicious occasion. It is an important day in the Muslim calender, as it occurs during the last month of the Islamic calender.
