The aviation industry was one of the sectors that was adversely affected due to the coronavirus pandemic. Although the sector is on the road to recovery, the airlines are now finding new ways to lure their customers. United Airlines has recently announced a new contest for its flyers who get themselves vaccinated. It is also an initiative to encourage people to get vaccinated and also those who already are. As per the new contest the Mileage Plus members of the United Airlines could win free flights for up to a year.
The contest is called as Your Shot to Fly which is a first of its kind by any airline in the world. It will provide an opportunity for vaccinated people who are waiting for their post pandemic getaway. What makes it more exciting is that the airline has added more routes to its destination list including Greece, Iceland and Croatia. Moreover it has also resumed the flights to France, Portugal, Spain and Italy. The contest has already begun and the vaccinated travellers from today until June 22, 2021 will have to upload the proof that they have been vaccinated on United.com. It can also be done through the United app.
Talking about the eligibility to enter the contest, the vaccinated person has to be a US resident and has to be 18 years or older. The person will also have to be a Mileage Plus member and should have received at least one shot. But people who have not received the vaccination due any medical or private reasons, need not be disappointed as they can also participate by uploading an affidavit that will explain why they are not eligible for the vaccine.
30 of the lucky travellers will win a round trip for two in any class and that too anywhere in the world where the airline flies. There would be five lucky winners who will be selected on a random basis and would win a year worth free travel anywhere across the world with United. The winner could be accompanied by one companion. The winners will be announced on July 1, 2021.
