Fujitsu announces a permanent work from home plan for employees

Japan based tech equipment manufacturer, Fujitsu has made an announcement that it is all set to halve its office space in Japan as it is seriously adapting the new normal measures due to the coronavirus pandemic. The announcement added that the Work Life Shift programme will be offering an unprecedented flexibility to its 80,000 workers in Japan. This means that the staff members will now be able to work for flexible hours while the work from home option will remain as standard wherever it is possible.

The new move has been taken by Fujitsu after a similar announcement was made by Twitter in the month of May, 2020. The Japanese tech giant in a statement to a leading daily said that it will be introducing a new way of working that will help the employees to be more productive, empowering and will also give a creative experience to the employees. The statement added that the new work programme will also increase the innovation and will be able to deliver new value to its customers and the society.

The new plan has mentioned that the employees will be able to work remotely that will deliver a working style to allow them to have flexible hours and make use of their time according to the content of their work, lifestyle and business roles. The new programme will also give the independence to the workers to select from where they would like to work. It could be their home, a satellite office or a corporate hub.

The company is confident that the new plan would help the employees to be better productive and would also improve the performance of the team. It was in the month of May, 2020 when micro-blogging site Twitter had announced that its employees could work from home for ever if they wished to. The announcement was made as it looked in to the future of working amidst the coronavirus pandemic.
