Blue Bell Ice Cream voluntarily recalls its product from stores

US based ice-cream manufacturing giant Blue Bell has deliberately declared a withdrawal of a product on October 8, 2019. The Texas based creamery has called for the return for a particular lot of half gallon packs which have been named as Butter Crunch. The item was manufactured in August, 2019 at Blue Bell’s manufacturing unit in Alabama. The company while talking about the reason said that one of its consumers found a foreign object in the ice cream.

The consumer had informed about a foreign object to the company. The Texas based ice cream manufacturer then started off an investigation and found out that the piece of tool was unintensionally dropped in the product during the manufacturing of a small portion. The recall is just a safety measure by the company and is calling back the stock of the items processed the entire day of Butter Crunch from where it was made. As a result, all the nearly 2 litres packs were not sold in the region, but were sold in some other parts including Georgia, Florida, Mississippi, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and Alabama.

The company has also sent out instructions to the store staff to take back the ice creams from the shelves. So far, no injuries have been informed due to consumption of the ice-cream till date. Those who have already bought the recalled item can bring it back to the store and get a complete refund. The customers can call on 979-836-7977 from Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM CST.

For a major portion of its existence in the ice-cream history, it has made its ice creams as well as butter on a local level. But in the mid 20th century, the company stopped producing butter. Blue Bell was found in 1907 in Brenham, Texas and later on expanded in the whole state of Texas. The company then also spread its wings in the Southern United States.
