Burger King to launch plant-based Impossible Whopper burgers

American global chain of hamburger fast food Burger King is all set to officially launch its first plant-based burger. With the launch, Burger King will become the biggest fast-food chains in the land to offer a plant-based meat alternative on their main menu. From August 8, 2019 the new Impossible Burger will be available in the form of an Impossible Whopper. It is a meat-based counterpart that is flamed-grilled patty topped with pickles, tomatoes, mayonnaise and onions.

It is also to be noted that the Impossible Whopper and currently being promoted as a limited time offering and it is unclear when the item will be pull off the menus. Chris Finazzo, the Burger King executive in a statement said, “We are really excited to be able to offer our new Impossible™ WHOPPER® to our guests across the country at an unbeatable value for a limited time”.

Finazzo added that they had first launched the market tests in St. Louis in April and later in six other markets across the country. The Burger King executive added that they received some great reviews and feedback. The new Impossible Whopper has appealed the current guests as well as the new guests. From next week, the guests across the country will be able to try this plant-based, flamed grilled sandwich that is true to the original Whopper Sandwich that the guests know and love.

Finazzo is also the president of Burger King North America and mentioned that the restaurant started testing burgers with Impossible Food’s plant-based products at select locations in April, 2019. To help launch promotion, the fast food chain has partnered with home delivery service DoorDash. From August 8 to September 1, 2019 burger fans can use DoorDash or the Burger King app to order a promotional Impossible Taste Test for $7 and free delivery. The Taste Test includes an Impossible Whopper and the regular meat-based original Whopper so the consumers can get a taste of the two.
