A food company in Georgia has voluntarily recalled its hamburger and hot dog buns that were sold stores like Walmart and Aldi in many of the states including in Ohio. The recall was initiated by Flower Foods Inc. after it discovered small pieces of hard plastic in production equipment. The consumption of such food would have caused a choking hazard. However, no related injuries or illness have been reported so far.
The products that are being recalled were distributed to the retail customers under a variety of brand names. They have been distributed in, Arkansas, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, North Carolina, Mississippi, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Texas and West Virginia.
The products were sold under the brand name including Great Value, 6-Eleven, Home Pride, IGA, Wonder and Publix. The customers who have purchased the affected products have to return it for a full refund. People who have queries can call Flowers’ Consumer Relations Centre at 1-866-245-8921.
The company has advised that the products must not be consumed and can discard or return at the place of purchase for a full refund. The consumer relations centre will remain open from Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm EST. It is also advised to check the brand names at the stores before purchasing any buns or breads.
