Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are having the best time of their lives as parents to their son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. The royal couple’s first child is all set to be baptized this weekend and reports suggest that the christening ceremony will be held on July 6, 2019. Baby Archie was born on May 6, 2019 and the date for Christening marks exactly two months later.
The ceremony will take place at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle where Meghan and Harry got married in 2018. Prince Harry was also christened at the same place in 1984. Reports say that the Duke and Duchess selected the location for the event as the place was not too far away from their new Frogmore residence. The new parents wanted to have an intimate and a peaceful setting for their child.
The ceremony will be attended by close family members. Around 25 close family members and friends will be in attendance. Some of the earlier reports claimed that Meghan and Harry might opt for a completely private affair and if they did then they might forgo another royal tradition that concerns Baby Archie. While the christening ceremony have always been a private affair, Prince William and Kate Middleton have allowed the press photographers to click some candid pictures of the family outside the chapel.
More reports said that the moment is going to be a beautiful milestone and they are excited to share this as a family first and then with the world. Meghan and Prince Harry are expected to share pictures from the christening ceremony a day later on their Instagram account. So far there are no reports on who will be Baby Archie’s godparents. Prince Harry had earlier shared an adorable picture of Baby Archie on Father’s day which did not show the entire face of the little one but just gave a glimpse.
