Updated Trends: Pope Benedict XVI Offers A Hand Of Friendship To Britain
Pope Benedict XVI has made his terms very clear as he is offering the people of Britain, as he is on a visit to the Kingdom. The Pope was in Edinburgh today, along with the Queen at the Holyroodhouse. The Pope traveled through the city in his Pope Mobile where thousands of people came to see him.
Even though the Pope had a grand welcome in the city, there were some small protest taking place here and there. This is the Pope visit in UK in almost more than 25 years, as before Pope John Paul II visited in the year 1982. At the Holyroodhouse, the Queen and Pope exchanged gifts which each other.
The Queen stated that the Pope’s visit is a great opportunity to strengthen the bond between Roman Catholics and the people of UK. This is also considered to be an important visit from the Pope’s side as the church has fallen in great controversy recently and especially the haunting sex scandals.
