Model Kendall Jenner clueless about ‘bouncing back’ post controversial Pepsi commercial

Kendall Jenner finally has something to say on her controversial Pepsi ad. The Pepsi commercial that released in April this year witnessed Jenner using Pepsi as a peacemaker for political protests happening between police personnel and demonstrators belonging to different race and castes. Jenner was rebuked and trolled heavily for using this controversial topic of protests especially between minorities and law agencies in the US and making a grave issue of political upheavals a minor issue by showing that the nationwide tensions can be doused with only a sip of soda.

In the Kim Kardashians’ show, Keeping Up with the Kardarshians Season 14 premiere on Sunday, October 1, ETOnline reports that sister Jenner got candid in an interview and revelaed her reasons behing endorsing the brand and being a part of the controversial commercial.

The American model and TV presenter had faced a lot of backlash after this Black Lives Matter advertisement aired as people believed that she tried to trivialize and undermine the gravity of these protests and racial discrimination as such. She was quoted saying on the show, “I feel really bad that anyone was ever offended. I feel really bad that this was taken such a wrong way and I genuinely feel like s**t”, further adding that she had no clue how to regain her reputation and image in the entertainment industry after the flak that she received.

“It’s really depressing and it bothers me every single day.”

She was even seen sobbing while admitting, “I would never purposely hurt someone, ever. And obviously if I knew this was going to be the outcome, I would have never done something like this.” The Pepsi ad that saw Jenner leaving a photo shoot to take part in the protest and throwing her blonde wig to a black woman in the protest was taken down soon after it was aired and the company was forced to issue an apology.

Kim Kardarshian comforted and reassured her sister on the show saying, “This is the first time you’ve had a scandal. This is your first real experience with something like this.”

Jenner further claimed, “The fact that I would offend other people or hurt other people was definitely not my intent and that’s what got me the most, is that I would ever make anyone else upset.”

However, there are people still upset over her act of showing herself as the ‘privileged peacemaker’ and they expressed their angst in tweets that put Jenner in a rather bad frame for playing the victim instead of apologizing.
