Updated Trends: US Church Defiant On Burn A Koran Day Event, Despite Protests
Its been some time now that the Dove World Outreach Center Church in Gainesville, Florida, has stated that it will be have a ‘Burn A Koran Day’ on the 11th September this year. During the event the members of the church will be burning the holy book of the Muslims, the Koran. US military top officials have stated that this event is totally absurd.
Military officials have stated that this will provoke strong outrage in the Muslim society, and that this will also lead to attacks on the western people around the world by extremists and terrorists. US Attorney General, Eric Holder,has stated that such an event is idiotic and dangerous.
But the church pastor and the members are defiant over the event as they say that they need to send a strong message towards the Muslim extremists who are creating havoc all over the world. The whole incident has surfaced after the relations between US and Islam has come under strict thinking, plus we also have a heated debate of a Mosque near Ground Zero.
