They’re finally here! The heirs to the Clooney empire – twins Alexander and Ella were born on June 6, 2017. A rep for handsome actor George Clooney and his wife, human rights lawyer Amal released a statement saying, “This morning Amal and George welcomed Ella and Alexander Clooney into their lives. Ella, Alexander and Amal are all healthy, happy and doing fine. George is sedated and should recover in a few days.”
The Clooneys were married back in 2014 in a private, but lavish, ceremony in Venice, Italy. They nuptials involved their guests being taken across the river in a boat, with George Clooney’s guests including Matt Damon, Julia Roberts, Emily Blunt and John Krasinski, among others.
George Clooney has always been the ultimate bachelor of Hollywood. He swore of kids and even getting married. However, that all changed when he met Amal Alamuddin, a human rights lawyer who fights for some of the most high profile international cases. The couple fell pregnant last year, with the world excited at the Clooney genes being carried forward to a new generation.
The dapper Ocean’s Eleven star had joked previously about him being evasive when it came to children. He had told a leading daily, “My favorite part is, you know, all my friends who are my age, and I have many of them, they’re already done. Their kids are all grown up and away to college and they are laughing. We went out to dinner the other night, and it’s a table of eight guys and all their kids are away in college, and we are sitting there and they were all being very supportive, ‘Everything is going to be great, you’re going to love it’. Then it got really quiet, and they all just started making baby crying and the whole table just busted up laughing.”
Becoming a father is a brand new experience for the 56-year-old actor, who took it up as a challenge that he is willing to accept. “We are really happy and really excited. It’s going to be an adventure. We’ve sort of embraced it all with arms wide open.”
