Star Wars Theme Park Ready To Open In Disneyland By 2019

Now a galaxy far far away is going to soon come closer to fans than one would imagine. A Star Wars themed fantasy park is going to open at Disney’s Disneyland and Disney World by 2019, as confirmed by Disney’s Chairman and CEO Bob Iger a few days ago.

The concept was first revealed to the public back in 2015, and will span at total of 14 acres, the largest among all other theme parks in the United States. The Star Wars amusement park will be available for visitors at all of Disney’s theme park locations – in Orlando, Florida and Anaheim, California. Visitors will get to stroll through different elements from the original motion pictures, including a trading port, lands full of droids and other terrestrial beings and wait for this – the coolest part about the park is the Millennium Falcon that visitors will get to ride and manoeuver among the stars.

This is a great plan by Disney, who now owns the Star Wars franchise, one that is worth billions of dollars in sales tickets, merchandise, animated series, video games and other paraphernalia inspired by George Lucas’ creation. The theme park is set to open just in time for the release of Star Wars: Episode IX, as it hits theatres.

The latest instalment in the hit franchise will be releasing in December this year, a storyline that continues from 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The title for the movie has already been released to the public as Star Wars: The Last Jedi. And Iger has said of the film that it’s “a great next chapter in the Skywalker film saga”. This will also be the last time that audiences get to meet Princess Leia, now General Leia Organa as the death of Carrie Fisher has put an end to her story.
