Updated Trends: Mosque Near Ground Zero New York May Be Financed From The Public
The Controversial Mosque and the Muslim center that has been planned near the Ground Zero site in New York may be publicly financed. The city’s comptroller may be supporting the project, said the spokesperson of the comptroller. Mr. John Liu who is the comptroller may be even thinking of qualifying the project as tax-free.
Many people have revoked over the planned Mosque site, and this could be a turning point in the allotment of the Muslim center. Main people, the spokes person of the Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Governor David Paterson and the officials of the Islamic center have not yet spoken the decision.
The people who are supporting the mosque are on the verge of collecting $70 million for the project and this will be tax free funding. The tax laws state that funds collected for religious projects are tax free, only if they can prove it will be beneficial for the people and the society. Strong response can be expected from the New York citizens in the coming time.
