Summer is coming and of course, you want to spend time with your friends and loved ones, enjoying the beautiful days and nights. Make sure that you take care of yourself while doing so- drink plenty of water and always wear sun protection! Don’t forget your shades to protect those gorgeous eyes of yours too. In addition, if you want that summertime “glow” instead of looking like a sweaty, frizzy mess- here are a few summer beauty hacks that you are going to want to use. Sure, some of them may seem a bit on the crazy side, but the truth is they work!
You already know that baby powder can be used as a dry shampoo to absorb excess oil when you’re in a rush, it can also help you get rid of the sand after a day of sun and fun at the beach. Simply sprinkle it on your body and it will absorb the sweat and salt water, which is what causes the sand to stick, and that sand will wipe right off without any trouble at all.
That’s right- those handy little sheets that you put in your dryer to keep your clothes from getting that pesky static cling, can also be used to repel bugs from you when you’re out and about. Simply rub a dryer sheet all over your clothes and even your arms and legs- then stash a couple in your pockets. The smell will keep the bugs away and you won’t have to keep spraying yourself with that smelly bug spray!
The truth is that you’re not the only one suffering from bikini line rash- just about every woman will at some point in her life. Simply steep a few chamomile tea bags in hot water and allow them to cool for about 15 minutes in the freezer. Then, pull them out and lay them along your bikini line where you have a rash and allow them to do their job of soothing.
You probably already know one of the quickest ways to get nicked while shaving is to use a dull or rusty razor, right? You can keep razors fresh much longer by first not storing it in the shower and second, coating the blades in olive oil when you’re not using it to protect it from rust.
Keep sweat stains from setting into your clothes by sprinkling lemon juice on them before washing. Sometimes, even the special clinical strength products can’t keep sweat stains off your clothes. However, the acidity in lemon juice breaks them right up.
That’s right- pour some of that aloe vera from the bottle into ice cube trays and freeze. Then, when you get a sunburn, simply pull out a cube or two when you need to get some relief. After all, there are those days when you’ll be having so much fun, you’ll forget to reapply your sunscreen- and you’re going to get a burn.
Avoid sweating while blow drying your hair by applying deodorant on the back of your neck. After all, the worst part about using a heat styler on your hair during the summer is sweating while you’re styling. To avoid this, simply apply a powder deodorant on the back of your neck ten minutes before blow drying. It works just the same as it does under your arms.
Remove self-tanner mistakes with a paste made from baking soda and water. While it’s true that the safest way to tan is by using a self-tanner, it’s also true that when you do this- mistakes are likely to happen. Therefore, if you want to remove streaks or overly orange areas, simply create a paste with baking soda and water and use it to gently exfoliate the problem area. Make sure to drop a towel on the floor to help with clean up!
