Getting into a work-related rut is something we are all familiar with. Escaping this rut, however, seems like a very difficult task at first, but it doesn’t have to be! There are many small tricks you can use to stay productive and inspired day-in and day-out, increase the quality of your work, and feel better about yourself at the end of the day!
It’s no secret that a functioning adult needs at least 7 hours of sleep per day. Try to get this amount every day and you’ll quickly notice you will be less tired and moody and more productive.
If you have the habit of snoozing your alarm over and over again, try waking up 30 minutes earlier – those extra 30 minutes can be dedicated to reading news, planning your day, working out, whatever you want.
Remember to drink at least 2l of water every day.
Develop the habit of making a list of the most important tasks you want to tackle every day – then stick to that list. You’ll feel great seeing your progress at the end of each day.
Set aside time to read every day – books, articles, studies, anything you want that can develop your knowledge.
Develop a new skill or take 15 minutes out of your day to practice a hobby that makes you happy.
Thank co-workers and family members for their hard work. Remember how long you’ve come and all your achievements. Remember you’re great, and remember to tell everyone else they’re great, too.
Clean your desk or office daily, avoid clutter and keep things organized. Your desk is a reflection of your brain and ongoing activity.
Even if it means to walk home from work or do a quick 15 minute jog, working out is proven to help you in more ways than you can imagine.
And remember to not skip meals. In order to function correctly, the body needs various resources. Make sure you provide them every day.
The above items are by no means groundbreaking, but can make the difference between having average, boring and non-fulfilling days and turning you into a top-performer, both at work and at home. If you do have other tips on how to increase productivity and stay motivated during the day, add them to the list, put it up your wall and try to get them done every day. You won’t regret it!
