Indigestion is always an unpleasant and unwelcomed experience. Very often the root cause of indigestion is overeating or not eating right, acidity, heartburn, vomiting, feeling of discomfort, are all common symptoms of indigestion.
Here are a few home remedies with the help of which you can get rid of chronic indigestion.
1. Change in lifestyle – For many, a sedentary lifestyle is one of the main reasons behind indigestion. A change in daily routine like a walk after meals or some basic exercising once a day can lead to better digestion. Also, eating more of home cooked food as opposed to junk readymade meals is advisable.
It is also essential to have measured portions of meals, very often when we are too hungry we tend to overfill our stomachs, making it tough for our body to digest all the extra food.
2. Peppermint oil – Peppermint oil is available in special capsules which are coated so that they are released in the stomach. It helps to improve the gastrointestinal functioning and smoothens the digestion process.

4. Chewing gum – A study mentioned in the Journal of Dental Research reveals that people with indigestion problems feel relieved when they chew a sugar free gum for half an hour after meals. Chewing gum stimulates the salivary glands and allows flow of saliva.
