He was reportedly feeling bad after the incident, and especially when it was showcased around the world. Charlie accepted that it was a moment of idiocy and disrespect to the martyrs of Britain. Charlie, 21 is at the Cambridge University and is reading History at Girton College.

After the incident, he felt that he should come up with an apology and said “I would like to express my deepest apologies for the terrible insult that my actions represented.”. He added,  “I feel nothing but shame. My intention was not to attack or defile the Cenotaph. I got caught up in the spirit of the moment and did not realise it was the Cenotaph. Ignorance is a poor excuse but I am sincerely sorry.”
