Updated Trends: The Question Today – Is Sakineh Ashtiani’s Death Sentence Reflecting The True Face Of Islam?

Yes, the question today is quite relevant – is Sakineh Ashtiani’s death sentence issue reflecting the true face of Islam around the world? As it has been a long time today, that any Christian or Hindu nation around the world has actually stoned or lynched someone to death as an act of justice. It is not only a local issue today, but a global one.

Stoning, yes has been mentioned in the Bible too (in reference to the stoning of Stephen), but what can we say about its mention in the Koran. One verse from the Koran states – “I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them.” (Koran, 8:12). Indeed the Koran does speak about horrifying things that can be done to the people but it also mentions about the gentleness and sweetness that has to be shown towards people too.

This is something that is mentioned clearly in the Bible also, as God has spoken about frighting things and consequences to the people who refuse to obey him, but we do not practice them today because it is considered equivalent to murder, and yes God has also condemned that too, but according to Islam it is a truthful law.

The thin line between good and evil has diminished when it comes to Islamics, and as the Koran speaks about practicing good virtues in the day today lives, they do not stand credible to that, rather preferring the horrifying side of the Koran and practice it freely in their lives.
