While the coronavirus pandemic might have slowed down in majority of the countries across the globe, many people might have experienced mild to severe symptoms of the virus including the Omicron variant. However, that does not mean that such people are no longer at risk of contracting the virus again including the chances of Long COVID. This can happen no matter what the variant has hit the person. Even the mild cases are included in that possibility. Although there is no sure short way to predict how to know if you had COVID-19 earlier, but some of the experts have shared a few symptoms that might indicate that you were infected.

1. Shortness of breath – Shortness of breath is a common problem in people who have had COVID but have not fully recovered. Interestingly, it has been found that such a symptom is not common among patients who were severely ill or were hospitalized. It was more with the non-hospitalized patients who experienced this symptom. If you have extended shortness of breath which is chronic, it is better to consult a doctor and get tested.

2. Fatigue – Another common symptom is fatigue seen in patients with long COVID. There are a number of individuals who might experience unexplained fatigue and this could be an indication that the individuals have had Long COVID and should get immediate attention. Even a number of young individuals recovering from COVID-19 have experienced such symptoms.

3. Effects on the brain – it is a known fact that COVID can have long term effects on the brain but it is still not known as to what the actual mechanism is behind it. There is also evidence that an individual who was infected with the SARS-CoV-2 can lead to loss of grey matter in the brain.

4. Common symptoms – Some of the common symptoms include sore throat, runny nose, body pain, fatigue, cough, fever, loss of taste and smell and more that have been documented before. So you need to pay attention to these symptoms that could lead to an obvious infection.
