Body metabolism is a process that helps the body to convert the food in to the energy that is required by the body. It can be called as the rate at which the body burns the calories that helps to remain healthy. Maintaining a health metabolism is very essential as it helps us to digest, breathe and also remain warn during the cold. It also helps to keep our health in a good condition and maintain a proper body weight. But there are a few habits that can actually drain the body metabolism and should be avoided at any cost.

1. Not consuming enough protein – The body requires some amount of protein and diet plays a vital role. If you are not taking a supplement, then there are many natural food sources of protein that can be consumed on an everyday basis.

2. Not drinking enough water – Everyone is pretty aware of the importance of remaining hydrated. If the body is not getting enough water, then the metabolism of the body could come to a standstill. Drinking plenty of water throughout the day preserves your metabolism.

3. Not having enough sleep – Inadequate sleep can lead to a decrease on the metabolic rate of the body. This can also lead to a weight gain. It is important to have a good night sleep of at least 6 to 8 hours.

4. Not enough physical activity – There are many people who spend a lot of time sitting at their desks for work. This can put a negative impact on your metabolism and also overall health. It is important to have some activity and some exercise to remain healthy.

5. Cutting back calories – When you reduce the intake of calories, you tend to lose weight. But doing too much of it can lead to a problem where your body will not be able to burn enough calories.

6. Intake of sugary drinks – Sugary drinks are only empty calories and do not good. High levels of sugary beverages can reduce the metabolism of the body.
