The health of the skin not just depends on the products that you use, but also depends on the what kind of eating habits that you have. Many people do not realize that it is not just expensive products that matter for the skin but also what you put on your plate. People who already have an oily skin make things even worse due to their poor dietary choices. Here are a few foods that can contribute in making your skin oily.

1. Refined grains – Foods like candies, cookies, pastries, breads, cakes, pancakes and pretzels are all responsible for oily skin. If oily skin is not treated over a long period of time then they can lead to pimples and acne problems. Experts recommend to drop such food choices for proper skin care for oily skin. Refined grains do not contain fibre and other nutrients as they are all lost while processing and also have a high glycemic index that can put an impact on the blood sugar levels.

2. All fried foods – Some of the deep fried foods like samosas, pakodas and French friends can have a major impact on the skin. Apart from fried foods, one must also avoid heavy gravy foods which are loaded with butter and ghee.

3. Dairy products – Dairy products are otherwise good for the health but too much of consumption of it by people who already have an oily skin. Products that have ghee, butter, cheese and cream can be enemies for the skin and can be avoided by having soy milk and almond milk instead.

4. Processed food – Processed foods include biscuits, cookies, instant noodles, sausages, bacon, steaks and more. Such foods can cause greasy skin and put the skin at risk of acne and pimples. You can instead have fresh fruits, lean meats and fresh vegetables. One must avoid, packet and processed soups, noodles and ready to eat mixes and opt for a healthy or a freshly made snack.
