Updated Trends: Yamuna River Is Rising Steadily, Flood Threats In New Regions Of New Delhi
One of India’s largest rivers, the Yamuna, which flows from the city of New Delhi, has been taking the non stop rain in North India from the past couple of days, as a result of which the river is steadily rising and there are flood threats rising in new areas in city. The river is flowing over the danger mark and there is a direct threat to low lying areas near the banks of this river.
The river was flowing well above the danger mark at 205.78 meters, a whole meter above the danger line. The water has started to enter new areas in the city of New Delhi and is on the verge of doing enough damage.
In a move to take precautions against the flooding river, authorities have started to evacuate people from the low lying areas near the river. More fear has gripped the city, as the rain continues, shops and markets will close down due to the flooding.
