When faced with long hours at the office, tight deadlines, busy schedules and all the stress that comes with them, leading a healthy work life is not exactly the easiest thing in the world. However, there are a couple of simple things you can do in order to improve your mood and productivity at work.
1. Take the stairs – Choose stairs instead of the elevator, as you will get your heart pumping, burn some calories and keep things active. Walking downstairs is also important, as it may reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
2. Keep yourself hydrated – Drinking enough water throughout the day is a super easy way of staying healthy at work. Make sure to refill your glass every time you get up, or set an alarm as a reminder.
3. Give your desk a makeover – As you are spending many hours at your desk every week, keep in mind that it should be as healthy as possible. Organize your desk in a manner that suits you best and then keep it clean, as often as possible.
4. Find some time to de-stress – Getting things done on time is important, but make sure to put yourself first during the day as well, not just work or your boss. Taking a small break to have a cup of tea, call a friend or listen to a couple of your favorite songs will help you do your best for the rest of the day.
