Updated Trends: Greek Journalist Sokratis Giolias Gunned Down
Thirty-seven year old, Sokratis Giolias, a Greek journalist, was brutally killed outside his home at Ilioupoli, Athens before dawn on Monday July 19.
The police said that Sokratis was shot 15 times before he succumbed. The authorities as of now have not found any motive for killing Sokratis that can relate to the small terrorist groups operating in Greece.
Sokratis used to write on a famous online news blog that usually caters to the scandalous news items, ‘Troktiko’. He was also heading ‘Thema FM’, Athens private radio station.
On Sokratis demise, the Parliamentary Speaker, Philippos Petsalnikos said, “I express my outrage and grief at this heinous and murderous act which resulted in the death of journalist Sokratis Giolias”.
More than one person is said to be have been involved in the killing of the scribe.
