Updated Trends: Scientists have come up with a new polypill, which can help in reducing the risk of heart attacks, bowel cancer, strokes, bowel cancer and even kidney failure. The polypill is a combination of four of the common drugs that are helpful in reducing blood pressure and cholesterol.

    Poly Pill

Research had found that participants who were given polypill had a reduction in LDL cholesterol as well as blood pressure, compared to those who were administered placebo tablet. The main author of the study, Prof. Anthony Rodgers from the George Institute for Global Health in Australia, had said that the results of the poly pill can be helpful in long term.

The researchers have a new challenge to find if the drugs are to be taken separately or are better taken together. If it is determined that the drugs are better to be taken together, then it would be convenient to be administered and would also be cheaper.

Dr. Lorna Layward from the stroke association has said that people suffering from cholesterol and blood pressure are forced to take multiple pills. In such a case the poly pill may prove to be a blessing for such patients and would also become convenient and cheap for them.
