The summer season is here and this is a time when it becomes tough for people to deal with the oily skin. The heat makes the skin produce more oils and makes it more prone to acne and other similar skin issues. When the production of sebum increases, the skin tends to become oily. Some of the reasons behind this could be lifestyle, hormones, genetic issues and dietary changes. If the issue is not severe, then there are a few simple home remedies that can help to deal with oily skin problems.

1. Oatmeal – Oatmeal has sponge-like properties that absorbs the excess oil and also helps to exfoliate the dead skin. Take half cup of oatmeal and mix it with one tablespoon of honey. Gently rub the mixture on the face for five minutes and rinse off with warm water.

2. Honey – Honey contains anti-septic properties and helps to fight against the oily skin naturally. It not just helps to get rid of the oily skin, but also helps to retain the moisture. You just have to gently apply a thin layer of honey on the skin and let it sit for 15 to 20 minutes and wash it off with luke warm water.

3. Tomatoes – The red fruit contains salicylic acid which helps to absorb excess oil. It is also a very common remedy for acne. Take pulp of one tomato and mix one spoon of sugar with it. Apply the mixture with an upward circular motion on the skin and leave it to rest for 10 to 15 minutes. Rince off with luke warm water.

4. Egg white – Egg white is excellent to tighten the pores of the skin. Mix one egg-white with one spoon of lemon juice and apply it directly to the face. Apply it gently on the face and leave it till it dries up. Wash off with luke-warm water.
