American singer Beyonce and husband Jay-Z are surely proud parents as their daughter Blue Ivy Carter was honored with the Ashford & Simpson Songwriter’s Award at the 2019 Soul Train Awards for the song Brown Skin Girl. The song featured on The Lion King: The Gift playlist and was released in July, 2019. The 7 year old had collaborated with mother Beyonce to pen down the lyrics of the song, that marked her first song credit.

Blue Ivy Carter has not just collaborated to write down the lyrics but has also sung the song. The 7 year old shared the award with her parents Beyonce and Jay-Z and together they managed to leave behind other five nominees in the category. Other nominations in the category included Juice, Hard Place, Make It Better, Daniel Manman Farid Nassar, No Guidance and Talk. After the announcement, several fans of the singer and her daughter congratulated the star mother and daughter duo.

The fans talked high about Blue Ivy Carter winning award at such a young age, when other children are busy competing at school level competitions at that age. Another user appreciated Blue Ivy’s creativity and expressed how the little one has already started winning awards. Beyonce have birth to Blue Ivy on January 7, 2012 at the Lenox Hill Hospital in New York.

The singer has been in a relationship with Jay-Z since 2002 and had also appeared as his girlfriend in the music video of his song. Her appearance had led to speculations about their relationship. In 2008, the two got married amidst just the family members. They have always kept their relationship private and continue to do so even today. However, they have become more relaxed in recent times. Beyonce and Jay-Z have acknowledged about the problems that they had faced in their marriage due to Jay-Z’s affair outside marriage. The singer had in 2010 or 2011 suffered a miscarriage and called it the sadest thing that she had faced.
