Titanic re-release on December 1 will make the fans’ heart go on and on

The blockbuster hit that crossed over two billion dollars at the box office and won eleven Academy Awards for the best film and the best director among others, Titanic is ready to be re-released in theatres 20 years after it created history by being an epic movie that intrinsically brought back to life the sufferings of people on the fateful ship on the doomed night of 1912, tugging at the heartstrings of the audiences who watched the film when it first released in 1997. Years later, it is still an evergreen movie that is being watched and re-watched by generations of people, each time the film is telecasted.

A revamped version of the original Titanic directed by James Cameron will now be presented by Dolby Laboratories, Paramount Pictures and AMC theatres celebrating the 20th anniversary of the cinematic masterpiece on December 19, 2017.

The re-release of the Kate Winslet-Leonardo Dicaprio starrer will take place in US at all AMC theatres on December 1, 2017 where some people might even get the chance to see the epic film in 3D at 20 locations.

Titanic’s official Twitter account posted the news of the film’s re-release after 20 years on the social media network captioning it as, “it was like seeing it for the first time” especially with the Dolby 5.1 version at 87 AMC theatres.

A major nostalgia hit as this film’s re-release aims to be, the theatres are expected to be thronging with people wanting to relive their fond memories from the all-time classic. For the millenials, this will be reliving their teenage days. However, the film will only re-run for a week starting December 1 and tickets are available at amctheaters.com/titanic.

Ahead of the movie’s release, Director Cameron said in an interview to Variety: “We mastered a few minutes of Titanic in Dolby Vision and I was stunned. It was like seeing it for the first time. Now that the entire film has been mastered, I’m excited to share it with audiences across the U.S.”

He added in the interview, “This is beyond 3D, beyond 70mm, it’s beyond anything you’ve seen before. The image leaps off the screen as bright and vibrant as life itself. This is the way all movies should be seen and without a doubt, Titanic has never looked better.”

When Titanic originally released, social media did not even exist but today, years later, the movie will be received by the fans of the actors and the film with critical acclaim, fondness, appreciation and even debate over the final scene of the film. People might even share their nostalgic moments from the original release on social media.
