Since the summer is officially coming to an end and you will need to stock your patience till more opportune weather makes a re-appearance next year, there’s a rom-com coming up that will warm your heart through the colder months. We’re talking about Destination Wedding and it stars two of our secret long-time crushes – Winona Ryder and Keanu Reeves!
The ’90s’ hottest actor and actress are coming together in an upcoming film that has reportedly finished filming. The film will focus on “two miserable and unpleasant wedding guests who develop a mutual affection despite themselves over the course of the weekend event.”
Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder have previously worked together on two films – Mad About You and A Scanner Darkly – though the second film was animated and you couldn’t really see them together. A rom-com is not what you would usually see the two actors work on, considering that Winona is currently killin’ it on Netflix’s Stranger Things and Keanu Reeves chooses more serious roles like he did in The Matrix trilogy and Speed, among others.
Producer of Destination Wedding, Robert Jones said about the film, “When comedy is seated in character and truth it’s both funny and moving, and on that basis Vic’s screenplay is one of the best I’ve read in a long time. Winona Ryder and Keanu Reeves are wonderfully skillful actors and their chemistry on-screen truly brings these irascible characters to life.”
